The Marchesi Alfieri wine estate and its historic cellars are located alongside Alfieri Castle, high up in San Martino Alfieri. Estate owners Emanuela, Antonella, and Giovanna San Martino di San Germano manage wine production in cooperation with Mario Olivero, Estate Director and Enologist.
The esteemed Barbera d’Asti is the jewel of the estate’s production, accounting for the majority of the 100,000 bottles of wine produced from the 25 hectares of vineyards. All aspects of wine production, including the grape harvest, are under the winery’s strict control. In 1999 the three sisters teamed up with Mario Olivero, whose award-winning skills established his renown at Col d’Orcia, Montalcino.
