La Gibryotte is a recent venture in Gevrey Chambertin by three generations of the Dugat family: Claude Dugat, his father who was a renowned vintner, his son Bertrand, and his daughter Laetitia, who manages the business. Bertrand and Laetitia both hold degrees in enology and have gained invaluable experience from helping their father in his vineyards and cellar for many years. Their wines have the same high-quality craftsmanship as their father’s and are attracting many avid Burgundy fans.
At the end of each harvest the Dugats assemble numerous samples that they subject to blind tastings, selecting the choicest wines that have the best aroma, concentration, complexity, and balance for La Gibryotte. All the wines mature in barriques and are aged in La Gibryotte’s cellar for periods ranging from 11 to 15 months.
Burgundy connoisseurs know the Dugat reputation and prices. La Gibryotte is a new, reasonably priced offering from one of the world’s greatest vintners, whose wines will rival and surpass many of the most revered names in the Côte de Nuits.
